Rhodes Fires, Livingstone Takes Winning Catch - LVE English County Championship Wrap - Round 8

Four Dragons featured in the latest set of County Championship fixtures, with a mixed bag of team and personal results.

Warwickshire captain Will Rhodes lead from the front in their win over Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston, making 91 and 63 and taking 3 wickets. The win was Warwickshire’s third from seven games, boosting the Bears to third in their group.

Sir Alastair Cook’s Essex defeated Cameron Bancroft’s Durham by 195 runs in a low scoring affair at the Riverside Ground. Bancroft made 20 and 4, falling LBW to Australian seamer Peter Siddle in the first innings, while Cook made 2 and 7.

Liam Livingstone featured for Lancashire in their innings and 79 run victory over fierce rivals Yorkshire at Old Trafford. Livingstone made 6 in Lancashire’s only innings and bowled 22 wicketless overs as the home side secured bragging rights in the latest edition of the Roses Match.

Jack Brooks will be hoping to return from injury for Somerset’s clash against Hampshire at Taunton beginning on Thursday. Brooks has only made one first class appearance this season, becoming cricket’s first ever COVID substitute when he replaced teammate Lewis Gregory in Somerset’s win over Middlesex.
