The long awaited start of the cricket season has
arrived. With things going well on- field it is essential players and their
families get behind the club off- field to continue the success of the club! With 1st and 4th grade
undefeated, 2nd and 3rd grade suffering just one loss,
there is somewhat of a buzz around the club. On Thursday October 2nd we hosted “Stand up
for the Drags,” a hilarious comedy night including fellow Dragon Phil
Patterson with his outrageous animal mating rituals and award winning stand
up comic John Robertson with multiple funny moments including an outstanding
Ukulele performance that left the crowd in stitches. The night was seen as a great start to the season and
an overall success, with a profit $500 being raised for the club. The aim of the Social Calendar is to bring us together
and raise much- needed funds for the Dragons as a whole, but most
importantly the money is spent back into the most important thing of a
cricket club - the players! So I plead to you boys please get behind it and get
friends, girlfriends, wives, mistresses and family down to help the good
cause. Please forward any ideas on to me for events that you
would like to have organised, because player input is essential in
organising an enjoyable and well- liked event.
