The Western Australian Cricket Association has announced the formation of a Development Squad for the 2010-11 season.
The objective of selecting a Development Squad is to assist players to bridge the gap between under-age representative cricket to the WACA District competition and in turn to interstate ranks.
23 players have been invited to join the inaugural list, which contains a mixture of ex-Warriors squad members, consistent performers in the Retravision Shield and promising under-age players.
The Development Squad will work in an organised structure, training regularly with the Retravision Warriors team as well as playing games against representative sides such as the WA Indigenous XI and Country XI.
The group will be overseen by new Warriors Assistant Coach Lachlan Stevens and also have access to specialised coaches, including a Development Coach who will be appointed in due course.
All players will be invited to join the Retravision Warriors 2010-11 squad at a camp to mark the commencement of pre-season training next month.
