Following his outstanding game for the WA second X1 Matthew Johnston has been selected for Wednesday's Ford Ranger Cup Game against Tasmania.

It has been a long road this season for Johnston, which started with his removal from the State Squad due to his health issues, Johnston has fought back in emphatic style proving his fitness with an outstanding all round season scoring 476 runs and taking 30 wickets to date, he finally received his opportunity in the recent 2nd X1 game for his state and scoring 60 and 138 as well as bowling 27 over’s collecting 1-47.
