Willetton’s A Grade side continue to perform in crunch matches defeating the highly fancied Melville fielding players such as Magoffin, Towers, Duffield, Porter and Russell.

Week one saw Willetton bowled out for 163 with O’Connell 68, Johnston 27 and Bond 29, the game was evenly poised with Melville 5-70 at stumps, Johnston claiming 3 important scalps. Week 2 saw Johnston  remove Towers in the 3rd over and combining with Stephen Ball to clean up the tail for 129 Johnston finishing with 5-54 and Ball 4-17 . Willetton batted for the afternoon with O’connell passing 800 runs unluckily being out on 96.

The game was full of Milestones with Matthew Johnston passing 5000 A Grade runs and 150 wickets, Kris Eliiot reaching 4000 A Grade runs, Varun Chopra 1500, Kallen Bond 1000 and Reece O’Connell 1000 runs in his 21st game.

Second Grade had a fantastic run chase running down Melville’s 266.
