The West Perth Cricket Club was a foundation member of the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA), established in 1889. In 1984 the West Perth Cricket Club transferred to the Willetton area and became the Willetton District Cricket Club.
Willetton District Cricket Club’s aim is to promote cricket within the community, from juniors through to seniors, providing the opportunity to play cricket at the highest level available in Western Australia, within the team environment and the traditions of cricket. Willetton District Cricket Club has elite coaches and outstanding facilities to nurture young cricketers and provide them with the best available pathway to play First Class cricket. Recent examples of this are local products Matthew Johnston and Cameron Bancroft, both holding State contracts (Tasmania and W.A), Brad Hogg is probably our best known current player still turning out for Willetton, Australia in T-20, the Peth Scorchers and the Rajisthan Royals in the IPL.
Our club coach Aaron Harwood was named A Grade coach of the year in 2005/06 and 2009/10 and is a level 3 coach, this puts him in the top echelon of coaches in Australia; he is also a former A Grade all-rounder at the club. He has been appointed on the WACA under 17’s State coaching panel for the last 3 years winning 2 national championships. Langley Angel is our A Grade coach, another highly rated young Coach with plenty of A grade and overseas experience.
Our Board consists of successful businessmen and ex-players, keen to see the club continue its development of local talent, through the junior ranks and into Senior, State and International cricket.
