The West Perth Cricket Club was a foundation member of the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA), established in 1889. In 1984 the West Perth Cricket Club transferred to the Willetton area and became the Willetton District Cricket Club.
Willetton District Cricket Club’s aim is to promote cricket within the community, from juniors through to seniors, providing the opportunity to play cricket within the team environment and the traditions of cricket. Willetton District cricket club provides opportunities for players in the area to play at the highest level available in Western Australia.
Willetton District Cricket Club has elite coaches and outstanding facilities to nurture young cricketers and provide them with the best available pathway to play First Class cricket.
Recent examples of this are local products Simon Makin and Cameron Bancroft, both holding current State contracts with the Western Warriors, and recently Matthew Johnston who has played for the Warriors and Tasmania, in 2013/14 he will be playing during Dec/Jan for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash competition. Brad Hogg is probably our best known current player still turning out for Willetton when available, recently played for Australia in 2012 T-20 World Cup, the Perth Scorchers and the Rajisthan Royals in the IPL.
Our Board consists of successful businessmen and past A grade players keen to see the club continue its development of local talent, through the junior ranks and into Senior, State and International cricket. In 2013/14 we welcome to the board, Vikas Rambal Chairman of Perdaman Industries.
